Carol Huber
Carol Huber and her husband Stephen Huber are leading experts and dealers in the field of American and schoolgirl needlework. The Hubers have contributed articles to publication such as Antiques and Fine Arts and are the authors of How to Compare and Value Samplers and With Needle and Brush: Schoolgirl Embroidery from the Connecticut River Valley, 1740-1840.Carol Huber's background in the field of early American textiles dates to 1966 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. After moving to Connecticut in 1973 Carol taught at the University of Connecticut, Connecticut College, Rhode Island School of Design, and The Nantucket School of Design. Currently the Huber's continue their specialized antique needlework business of assisting museums and private collectors in building and refining their collections and promoting the cultural history of early American schoolgirl art.
