James C. Black
James C. Black is a certified psychiatrist specializing in child, adolescent, and family psychiatry. He graduated from the University of Illinois and earned his M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and is a member of both the Hartford County Medical Association and the Connecticut Council of Child Psychiatrists. Black has participated on the teaching team for the Albert Schweitzer Institute for the Humanities in Lithuania and Macedonia. He has been cited in Best Doctors of America and received the Best Teacher of the Year Award (1996) from the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Connecticut. He is also a two-time recipient of the Dr. Paul A. Andrulonis Award for excellence in teaching for his work at the University of Connecticut and the Institute of Living. In addition to his contribution to Same Sex Marriage: The Legal and Psychological Evolution in America, Black also co-authored Child Custody with Donald J. Cantor.
