Michael JarrettMichael Jarrett is a professor of English at Penn State University, York. He is the author of Drifting on a Read: Jazz as a Model for Writing, Sound Tracks: A Musical ABC and Producing Country: The Inside Story of the Great Recordings and has spent an inordinate portion of his life in record stores. His writing has appeared in collections like The Art of Record Production: An Introductory Reader for a New Academic Field, and New Media/New Methods: The Turn from Literacy to Electracy; as well as in both academic and popular publications, from Strategies and Film Quarterly to Pulse! and Fretboard Journal. He currently resides in Pennsylvania and spends an inordinate portion of his life in record stores.
